What Do You See?

For the visually challenged reader, the image shows a copse of trees, reflected in the water. There is a mystical light shining between the trees that’s also reflected in water.

At last she found it, seeing it real, there before her—not a dream any longer, but real! She dropped her sandals and as she stepped into the warm liquid, lifted her skirt a bit. Then feeling perfectly at home in the environment, she sank down, fully under the water. “Just drift” she said.

A fairy godmother. She could swish her wand over the politicos and make them truthful, apathetic, and remind them they work for us as a whole nation, to bring us together, not to stuff their bank accounts.

This is a hard question for me because I am extremely protective of my family, but when it comes right down to it—no, I don’t think we have the right to kill someone.

I love being spontaneous but my body prefers stability.
Of course animals of all kinds, suffer! I also believe they know and understand what you say, and can interpret attitudes and actions. Why do humans think they are unique in abilities? Okay. Don’t get me started🙄

I am always grateful for my family—my oldest son’s recovery from cancer, my far away son who’s trying to grow a garden in unprecedented heat, and my daughter and grandkids close family who help me in multiple ways. I do realize how privileged I am. Life for me is good♥️

The Sunday Whirl

The flickering reflective line from the bright sun danced on the waves, almost seen as a bundle of dropped stars. So radiant the sight, my eyes were immersed in a temporary blindness. The sandy beach was a perfect meander among driftwood and sea contoured stone, and the taste of salt was felt on my tongue. The false drama of a floating ghost ship appeared; only a mirage in the sun shone water. I wondered what idol ancient beachcombers imagined as they also visioned the ocean’s portraits.

I always have a weird feeling when this date pops up and it’s been 56 years🙄This was the date printed on our wedding invitations but had to be changed with the “2” scratched out and we married on the 3rd. It was also sad because grave illness was the reason for the change. But on to the prompt. The words I see are at the top of my legal sized green paper tablet: pen and GEAR

Okay, not very exciting I admit, but the book previously in that spot I gave to my granddaughter yesterday. “One Thousand White Women” written by Jim Fergus. A fictitious account of journals written by May Dodd. I started another book by him last night named “The Wild Girl”. Have a great weekend!

Jim Fergus is the author of six novels, and two books of nonfiction. His bestselling novel, ONE THOUSAND WHITE WOMEN, won the Mountain and Plains Booksellers Association Fiction of the Year Award, and continues to be a favorite selection of book clubs and reading groups across the country. In 2017, St. Martin’s Press published the 20th anniversary paperback edition of ONE THOUSAND WHITE WOMEN, which has now sold over a million copies in America. The French translation of the novel – MILLE FEMMES BLANCHES – won the Best First Foreign Novel award and spent 57 weeks on the bestseller list in France.

Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt

Frontier Days Parade

I’m easily bored
Seeing no variation of cars by the hoard
I like the bands and the efforts of those
In hot wool uniforms carrying heavy loads
Today of course it started to rain
But they kept marching, no complaints
I would suggest horses be kept to the last
Marchers can’t sidestep an odorous mass
But on they go not to be outdone
Trudging through animal dung.

****don’t get me wrong I love seeing all the beautiful horses but can’t they come in last??🙄

Weekend Writing Prompt #269- Variation

”Come up and see me sometime” Mae West

The “Yes It’s Our Business” faction was on the prowl again, lurking under the private balcony of one Miss Lulu Beangartin. They had heard through a personal, thought to be confidential comment that Miss Lulu was providing entertainment of a lewd variety.

When Miss Lulu saw the men staring up at her, she turned on her oscillating fan sitting on the railing, and opened her silk robe wide. More than one of the pious group fainted and the rest picked the (ill) up and didn’t bother Miss Lulu again.

It’s in the Bubbles☺️😀

We headed to Walmart today for my Shingles and Covid boosters and after selecting some deli Cajun Turkey, provolone and croissants +, I had meals for a few days. As we were leaving we spied a new vendor. I was told it was “the latest thing” so naturally I had to try it. It was fun and delicious as my grapefruit tea’s mango fruit bubbles traveled up the straw to my mouth. How fun, I definitely recommend trying it. There is a huge selection of items, flavors, and even yogurt infused slushies.
