SoCS 4-5-24

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “express.” Use it as a noun, verb, adverb, or adjective. Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

I’m struggling with this word express

Right now everything’s a mess

I usually manage my life and time

But now it’s far from being sublime

When all of a sudden I find myself

Sitting with a needed part shelved

I realize the life that used to be

Is delayed by an injury and not pleasantly

I’m in rapid rehab with a broken tibia and fibula

Ten weeks till put weight on it, ruins curricula

So stuck with a leg feeling like it weighs ten tons

Seeing others in rehab realize I’m a lucky one

So I’ll complain here to you perfect strangers

My scheduled writings rearrangered 😂

The routine here is strictly adhered to

I’ll try to read and comment to you though.

Have a good week👍🏻🤓

W3 – Hepastitch – Love

Val’s (Murisopsis’) prompt guidelines

This April, for National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo), Murisopsis is running an “Around the World” poetry forms scavenger hunt (you should join us there!), and, as such, she is using one of these international forms for our W3 prompt this week!

In love

Soft brown curly fur

Squiggly wiggly body

Wet kisses

Big paws scratching grooves on your couch

Can’t help but give them a pass

Dog love.

Six Sentence Story

***

Sue needed an outlet. The twins were three and walking, talking and human dynamos. Not a minute was spent just sitting looking at a book, playing with blocks or doing puzzles; the girls were on the move! Sue had baby proofed the entire house and felt they could roam safely. Exhausted, Sue fell asleep by the side of the bed when trying for the third time to read the girls to sleep at night. Luckily the girls copied their mother and when daddy came home they were all asleep, having no idea of the hectic day.

It’s Thursday’s Six Sentence Story Link Up!

MLMM Saturday Mix

Joe was an all around guy
He could relate a story easy as pie
Also had a talent for cooking
He could cook eggs without even looking
One day as he was listening to jazz in the park
Watched a soccer game just for a lark Suddenly it started to rain
It rained so hard even a plane
High above he could see with his field glasses
Started diving downward, making low passes
Joe grabbed his phone to call it in
Then it started upward again
Joe realized it must be an air show stunt
Spoke harshly into the phone, being quite blunt
“Can’t you see the kids here playing a game? You’re flying too low, should be ashamed…”

Fandango’s Story Starter

This week’s Story Starter teaser is:

For once,” Quinn thought, “I wish I could get out of my own way.” Quinn was usually hesitant when trying to assert himself in a job interview, but today seemed like his last chance. He needed to do well. Straightening his tie, standing up straight, managing a cheerful smile, Quinn stepped into the office.

Q1. Will you be playing tricks on someone seeing as it’s also April Fool’s Day? Nosireebob🥸

Were you ever a victim of an April Fool’s prank? Sure but very long ago.

Q2. Will it be a normal working day for you? If you call three hours of intensive PT YES!

Q3. If you have children, are they of school age on Easter break, or toddlers? My granddaughters are on spring break.

Gratitude: As ever I am grateful for family help and especially since I was laying on floor with a broken leg and called them and they called 911. I had to have professional help getting up with two spiral fractures in my left leg.
