Holding up might be an appropriate action for our fire rescue department services after yesterday’s 75-100 mph winds. So loud and dangerous! Roads closed for many accidents and trees etc downed, a scary travel if needed. My electricity and internet all gone which is a reminder to keep phones charged. Mine ran out. My apartment was cold because I have the building’s 1950 style heater, air conditioner. The wind comes right in through it. All electric made me wish for my old house I moved from that had a gas stove so you could light the oven and burners to keep warm and even cook something. I have matches and candles but they were not used. So far today, things are cold but good. First soccer game tomorrow in inside facility, review pending☺️

Speaking of mood, my favorite song to dance to is “In the Mood”. I used to drag my husband from his group of men, (women didn’t know anything about the world of course) at parties and we would jitterbug. I probably lost a few of you with that😄. However, today I am in the no WiFi or electricity mood because the wind here is ruining everything with gusts of 100 mph and regular 50-70 that is going on for days.💨🌬️

dips and cracks and slippery stones

dangerous steps, don’t go alone

think of all sailors young and sweet

rested these shores, under their feet

bathed in salty waves coming fast

the stories they tell of their past

we collect the colorful orbs

history we fail to absorb

mighty drifts of sea’s salt and sand

shape stories of rocky shore lands

Can You Tell a Story in 64?

The Spider caressed his moustache, spying the gilded mirror above the banquette. He enjoyed living up to his villainous name, tonight included. He held the poisoned tabasco sauce and poured an invisible bit onto the spiced meat dish he knew she loved. No doubt she would call for a nurse, but too late. He would pretend upset in the windmill of chaos that ensued.

Carrie looked up to see her painting on display. She smiled as she gave her husband a hug. Her hard work was coming to fruition as she proudly eyed her artwork. The cafe was an off broadway location for actors to enjoy themselves after a night of theater. The locals knew to leave them alone after the theater closed, but even then, the restaurant’s popularity was growing. Soon it would not be the safe haven for the celebrities. The cozy atmosphere and colorful decor was inviting, and Carrie was overjoyed to see her contribution displayed along with well known artists.
