REBLOG of a response, please read…

I have now words of my own!! I’ll share the following — a bit long!!

🗳️ … well, it’s happened!! — My words right now fail me — matter of fact I have none that make sense!! — This is why I HAVE to borrow the words of a dear FB friend, DClifton, CA, after asking for his OK. Here goes …

“I could not be more proud of President Joseph R. Biden than I am right now!

Joe Biden just announced he will “stand down” from his bid for reelection. I cannot imagine what a hard decision this must be. I do understand what a selfless act this is – putting country ahead of personal ambitions.

In the next fews days the President will deliver an address to the nation fully explaining his rationale for stepping aside.

President Biden has accomplished more in this 3 1/2 years in office, so far, than just about any other President in the modern era. He is a good and decent man, the perfect man and President to bring America out of the pandemic, out of the darkness of the Trump administration. He was the perfect person to defeat Trump, and to be a bridge to a new generation of leaders.

I assume Joe Biden will give his full support to VP Kamala Harris. There will be some sort of process to nominate her, or possible someone else; though I think going down that path would be a grave mistake. Now that the President has stepped aside, the party most come together. And it must come together behind the Vice President.

Can you imagine how President Biden will be greeted at the Democratic National Convention now?
The level of adulation he will rightly receive for such a selfless act?
And can you imagine the shot of adrenaline this will inject into the Democratic Party’s energy and excitement surrounding the upcoming election?

Update: President Biden has just announced his support for Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee!

VP Harris will be an excellent candidate to go against Donald Trump. As one commentator remarked earlier: “She’ll be a prosecutor going against a convicted felon. She’ll be a woman who wants to protect peoples’ rights going against an old man who wants to take rights away.”

The Trump has planned its entire campaign around running against Joe Biden. What will they do now? How badly will they be forced to scramble to recalibrate their message to fit the Vice President? How frightened might they be at the idea of their rambling old-man candidate facing Kamala Harris in a debate?

This is an historic day.
And historic decision by President Biden.
And it remains an historic election this fall.
For now, the campaign has been turned on its head.
And I can already feel the excitement building as plans are made for us to move forward together.

Kamala Harris is a woman.
She is a woman of color.
She is the daughter of immigrants.
She is basically everything so many conservatives love to hate.

For that reason – if she becomes the nominee, as I believe she will – the Republicans will mount one of the ugliest, dirtiest campaigns imaginable. But in VP Harris, we will have a candidate more than capable of weathering whatever storm they send her way.

Joe Biden will “stand down”.
Kamala Harris will stand up.
And we must stand behind her all the way to the White House!! … 🗳️

Tribute to Night Ranger

When reading Di’s post about food at a market, I responded with info about our current siege and chief income for our capitol city, Cheyenne. July is Cheyenne Frontier Days here in Wyoming. People from all over attend. Last year my daughter took me because one of her old favorite bands was featured, Night Ranger, and we hadn’t been in a long time. It is a huge venue for Craft and other vendors to show their work and artistry, rodeos, and carnival type food and of course band performances. We waited till they performed that night and stood in a back area to listen. It rained of course, but my daughter loved it.

A repeated story, to my dismay, in my family is about me acting like my stubborn self. I am reminded of it at most family gettogethers🙄😂

I was following my grandson, he on his bike and me on my 😡three wheeled scooter😡. He told me to follow him as I was going the other way. I said no I’m going this way…ran over a small speed bump, fell and broke a bone in my hip, smashed my elbow and embarrassed myself all around, including to a construction worker who rushed over and sat me back up on my scooter. So now anytime I resist a suggestion, the old…remember when…?

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS July 20, 2024

“The Bones Beneath my Skin” (T J Klune)

The first lines prompt reminded me of how many books I have loved reading more than once. This book is one. I love the way T J Klune expresses different stories, usually involving many types of love. I have many of his books and series on my list of favorites and narrators are very good also. Here are starting words from “The Bones Beneath my Skin”:

This book has great characters. It has mystery, humor, sadness and will tickle your heart with the character, Artemis Darth Vader.

Weekly Prompts

The old saying: If you keep doing the same thing…comes to mind because it is madness. Expecting a different outcome is stupid…I know that word is not popular, but. It’s like banging your head on a wall, hoping it will help. It seems to me madness is the norm now. Let us begin with the “supreme” court rulings. Of course they skipped out quickly after making the extremely controversial ruling about presidential power. Anyone actually see Trump’s hand in their pocket? Too bad it wasn’t captured on video like everything else. If their recent rulings are not a definition of madness, what is? Congress is the same. Spend a few months doing nothing and skip out. If I sound angry, frustrated and upset, it’s because I am. Madness seems to rule.

Book two in the series: The Angel’s Game (The Cemetery of Forgotten Book 2) by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.

“A writer never forgets the first time he accepted a few coins or a word of praise in exchange for a story. He will never forget the sweet poison of vanity in his blood and the belief that, if he succeeds in not letting anyone discover his lack of talent, the dream of literature will provide him with a roof over his head, a hot meal at the end of the day, and what he covets the most: his name printed on a miserable piece of paper that surely will outlive him.”

The Angel’s Game (El juego del ángel, 2008) is a prequel to 2001’s The Shadow of the Wind, by Spanish author Carlos Ruiz Zafón. The novel marks a return to The Cemetery of Forgotten Books in Barcelona’s Raval district, and the Sempere & Sons bookshop. Like The Shadow of the Wind, it was translated into English by Lucia Graves and published in 2009. In Spain it was published in 2008.[1] The planned initial print run broke all publishing records in the country, with one million copies.
The Angel’s Game is set in Barcelona in the 1920s and 1930s and follows a young writer, David Martin.
In a once-abandoned mansion at the heart of Barcelona, Martín makes his living by writing sensationalist crime stories under a pseudonym. The survivor of a troubled childhood, he has taken refuge in the world of books and spends his nights spinning baroque, “grand guignol” tales about the city’s underworld.

The light was red, and seemed to stay 😳that way! Sara was panicked😫, thinking this might be the last time she could 👀see a nice👱🏻‍♂️guy she met 👩🏼‍💻online. The date 👫was scheduled for a certain 🕰️time because it would be his 🍔 lunchtime. She looked 🙄up at the traffic signal🚥, pleading for it to turn green and suddenly it did! She parked 🚗 at the Starbucks, carefully checked her appearance in the car’s side door mirror and walked 🚶🏼‍♀️‍➡️in the coffee ☕️shop. She recognized🚶🏻‍➡️him right away🫠, stepped close for a quick 🤗hug, and the rest 👩🏼‍❤️‍👨🏽 is history.😀
