Ovi Poetry Challenge 56: ACCEPT is your inspiration.

Life rotates, just like a circle
You’re young, you’re old, you change
You’re the boss or you’re the mother
Later become something other
Your children now take care of you
As long as family stays true
Some wander away from loving ties
Others tend to always rely
On the bond formed early on
Keep the faith, do not move on
All this learned in early life
Stay the course, and then
With cords that bind but also bend
The circle of love never ends.

W3 Prompt #115: Wea’ve Written Weekly

I was in a hurry, like every day this summer. It just seems vacation is another word for busy! I was running to the car and my dad is already sitting in the front seat, engine running and yelled “Morgan! Why are you always the last one to get in the car? Hurry up, we’re going to be late!” I yanked open the backseat door and threw my backpack down over my feet, where it was joined by my two brothers’ packs. It was only when we arrived at the school fair I realized I only had one shoe on!

Moonwashed Weekly Prompt – Eventide glow

***

“Threads of feelings” woven laboriously into daily life
Bright red strings of joy in binding
Sewn sunny yellow seen in children’s laughter
Long lavender stitches of grandma’s stories
Blue cords throughout when days are melancholy
Purple passion pieces placed here and there
Orange lengths woven from sunset and sunrise
Pink yarn spotted from young women’s secrets
White threads in small bows join together this life quilt.
