Twittering Tales #149

Look lady, I’ve no authority to do that.

Are you kidding? You have to get me to hospital!

I told you take the exit, but no, so now we’re stuck.

Do you know how to deliver a baby? This one is coming, now!

I’m honking, signaling, what else can I do?

Stop driving, get back here, help!

MLMM Photo Challenge #276

There she is Bob. I can’t believe he thought he could get away with this in the first place.

I know, right? Trump and his secret missions! My three year old would have had a better idea.

Spying with drones is one thing, but even Russia can do better than this!

Yeah, but Trump’s group of conspirators planned this and now we’re paying the price.

From the helicopter, the angry Seal team members view their task–to retrieve the drone from one of the few full forest areas in North Korea. An impossible task, except they are Seals.

FFFC #26 – Dune-ish

The two old men stood on the slippery moving sidewalk to board the bus. Transportation had evolved quite a bit in their lifetime, not all of it seemed welcoming. The new floating bus appeared and they noticed its appearance triggered a memory.

Wow, I told you!

That the new bus system is revolutionizing travel today?

Nah, I’m talking about the design. Doesn’t it remind you of anything?

Nope.

Remember Dune?

I never read it, too many thick volumes and quite depressing.

I stopped after the first one, but saw the movie. Did you see the remake in 2020?

Nah, my vision is so bad I don’t enjoy movies anymore, besides those sounds and movable seats? You might as well go on a rollercoaster! I never liked them, either.

I just remove my hearing aids and enjoy it all.

Time to Write –

Entering my mountain cabin, the home of my retirement age, the scent of sandalwood cheers me. After a long visit with busy relatives, I am grateful for the sanctity and aloneness my home offers. Peace enters my weary body and I feel my tired muscles relax. Familiar comforts surround me as I drop my bags and sink into my favorite refuse, a gingham overstuffed chair. From this respite I see the large picture window framing a familiar landscape where dreams are construed, and realize there really is no place like home.

Granny Gift

My granny made this sweater

She taught me how to knit

I really like the colors

But look at how it fits!

I think she might need glasses

Her vision not quite right

To me this gift she passes

No inconspicuous delight.

Sunday Photo Fiction – Plans

Looking innocent enough, the pair of terrorists wrote notes about the photos they took of the capitol building. Thinking they were merely tourists, the guards were unobtrusive as they snapped pictures of security cameras, exit doors and stairways. It would take them a few days to supply this information to the leader of their group.

MLMM – Lots of Prompts Love Story

***

“Oh my God, look at that! I thought you removed those salmon bones in my favorite fried cakes. Now look, I need to find a dentist that’s open on Sunday!”

“Oh, George, relax, I have a friend who is a dentist. I’m sure she wouldn’t mind helping you out. And George, she’s single.”

“Single? Is that all you ever think about, mom? I may never meet someone I think cool enough to spend my life with!”

“It doesn’t hurt to look, and George, she’s a dentist!” George’s mother was always on the lookout for a potential bride, her son was almost thirty!

“I suppose you think everyone should marry a doctor, right mom?”

“Yes, or lawyer, or better yet, a banker! Anyway, your dream of going to South America to save the rainforest is not practical, who needs more trees?”

“We do mom, the whole world is suffocating under a layer of toxic carbon. Trees absorb it and help to save the environment.”

“So, maybe you should marry a scientist?”

“Can you call to see if she can fix my tooth? I have a presentation tomorrow and need this front tooth replaced or I’ll look like a dork. No one will be thinking about the environment, just my mouth!”

George saw the dentist, his tooth was fixed and the two found they had similar interests. She attended his presentation, made a large donation to save the trees and they lived happily ever after in South America. She held clinics for local people and he saved trees. Sometimes mother knows best.
