Today’s prompt: granite, zucchini, lie

Feverishly working in her small kitchen, Julie decided to try the new zucchini bread recipe for the bake sale. She had watched the cooking channels tirelessly but most efforts to complete a recipe that resembled the shows’ efforts failed. Julie either was missing one or two ingredients or sometimes lied to herself the oven was at fault.

However, this day she was reserved to bring more to the sale than the usual bake shop purchases. Zucchini bread 101 displayed on her phone and she did have every ingredient ready. Lifting it from the oven, Julie noticed it was heavier than anticipated, but thought it was a quick bread, and lovely ingredients, therefore not worried.

At the school sale, the monitors sliced one end of the bread to show it off, noticed the texture was more congealed than most, but put it on display with the others. A customer, looking at the beautiful looking bread, bought a piece right away. Unfortunately he let out a yell after the second bite. He had broken a tooth on the walnut shell concealed in the bread. “Good god, I broke my tooth! What’s in this, granite?” He pulled a large piece of shell out of his mouth and threatened to sue the school.

Movie Monday ,

I watched this series on Netflix, “Mindhunter”. If you like Criminal Minds, this series illustrates the beginning of the BSU – Behavioral Science Unit of the FBI.

“Mindhunter” is an interesting beast because it’s, basically, an adaption of real events — while Holden, Wendy and Bill are fictionalized versions of real people. Bill Tench is based on the real BSU’s Robert Ressler.” (Quote from The Wrap)

I’m not putting a trailer video here because it would probably be offensive to most and inappropriate. However there are many clips on You Tube if you are interested. There are parts hard to see because it is an inside look at these peoples’ minds.

Rory’s Daily Four 📇📓✏️🖌🖍📜

I put on my blog whatever hits me at the time, such as a new-to-me song, or an oldie, or a a funny video I found. I have the time, do love a challenge and attempt a few of them such as https://mindlovemiserymenagerie.wordpress.com. I like this group because of their variety. Any photo challenge is always fun. I fly by the seat of my pants, and am very unprofessional😂

At the moment I need to weed out the area under the desk in my living room. I have to move those extra items to storage, but that requires help. Last week my grandson took a huge selection of clothes and other items to Goodwill for me. I had been waiting four years for someone to do that. Downsizing to a small apartment after living in houses isn’t easy.

In most ways. We had a huge attic full of books, an old phonograph, records, trunks of clothes and big imaginations.

I would never presume the talent needed to write a book. I like to scribble and if a person enjoys it, I’m happy. I certainly admire the authors here on WP and I’m sure they feel accomplished for completing a book.

Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt

My museum, Smithsonian it’s not. It is not as sad as the Holocaust museum either, but exists, here in my mind. I visit it every day, whether I really want to or not. It’s just sitting there, sometimes miles away, sometimes across the street and some days it’s in the room with me.

I can imagine you thinking that’s impossible, but a museum is only a place for collections. “Seat of the Muses” is the Greek definition, so it seems to me my analogy is correct. In my view, my mind collects it all: my pictures, words, sayings, memories, faces, friends, family, even pets. I have an almost overwhelming collection of images and thoughts from my lifetime.

We visit our museum daily, even unconsciously. It’s a muse for expression in every way; a basis for the way we act, speak, write, paint, create, even eat and drink.

CCC#43 – Chilly Willies

Skinny dipping in autumn was not really Joe’s style, but he and Gerry were obligated to fulfill a challenge, in broad daylight, in full view of the farmhouse. The area was wide open and the ditch was not very inviting, considering it was used to irrigate the fields.

Heavy drinking until four in the morning, Joe and Gerry lost a bet to the bartender (now a former friend) and this is how the two young men ended up naked, in an open field on a chilly October day. The cows were mooing, it was time to be milked, and soon the farmer and his family would be outside doing chores.

The bartender stood by laughing as his victims jumped in and out of the dirty water and grabbed their clothes. The cows never stopped chewing their cuds seeming unimpressed by the mens’ display. The farmer chuckled, possibly having a memory of his own, and the rest of his family returned inside the home.
