Colleenβs Weekly Tanka Tuesday

Blue flames much too hot
A needed buffer between
My heart remains touched
Warm, though not harmfully burned
For everlasting passion

Word of the Day: Jack
This has not been a good week and it’s only Tuesday. I am at my limit of a usual low frustration level on good days, and about to boil over. My trusty wheelchair has decided its wheels are just too tired to move and complain with loud squeaks resembling screams at times when I use it. Yep, real handy this morning at four when I woke up with a leak.
Oh the beauty…..what beauty you ask? I have no idea. I try to find it in everything but at a loss today. My son in law tried to fix it. It needs a wheel replacement at the very least, and after spraying good old WD40 on it, it was squeak free for an hour and I could actually roll it. He’s back traveling on his job, so I’m only using my scooter.
Now that in itself is an adventure because I only use it outside to take the trash or get mail. Inside it does not fit under counters, and I have a bad habit of underestimating the distance between the front of it and the object I’m getting to. And it has to be charged to run at all. I’ve fallen off it numerous times trying to retrieve something that fell, one time breaking a hip bone.
So if you’re having a great day with lots of holiday spirit, more power to you! As far as I’m concerned I don’t know Jack about holiday spirit today. But wait! I’m feeling better already after watching these:
My sense of humor is back. It never leaves for long.

Getting Personal π³

***
I use a lot of names. I started out as the bag lady to be funny because I use a pouch since the removal of my bladder, but then I happened upon rugby843 by mistake when choosing WordPress. So any name applies, I’m not pickyπ
I share most personal details such as why my blog is named what it is. It was the reason I started the blog in the first place, a result of bladder cancer. I share most everything. I try not to get into a debate over details but do voice my opinions.
All of it!π. If I’m happy or sad, you’ll know about it. If I’m angry or pleased you’ll know that too. I am honest here, probably too much so.
I do share my experiences and sometimes write a fictionalized version of what happened. I also “share” the mundane, and boring, so beware, I’m a talker.π₯΄

Word of the Day: Knock
I could go into the plethora of ideas this word brings to mind, but we’re all busy, so here’s a joke, a terrible one. I used to think these were funny, maybe I’m getting too old for theseπ±

Christmas Cheer

She hoped the trip to the glittery Christmas atmosphere of the bar would cheer her. It had been so cold she felt thoroughly chilled. The warmth of the local pub was welcoming. They might even have a bit of mistletoe strung up somewhere and with a brief surge of bravery she might linger under it for a wishful moment.
Memories of a touch, a kiss under the mistletoe still caused a bubbly churn in her stomach. She was alone, but still longed for companionship and love. Especially at this time of year when everyone around her seemed to be in love.
The steamy dirt of life was hidden, just for a short time, and people needed a respite from the everyday shuffle of ordinary life. This season of love and giving always seemed to bring out the best of hope and wishes for change.
Opening the door she was greeted by the bartender and a couple of old friends. The older man sat down beside her and nodded towards the mistletoe with a wry smile, “later?” Marie smiled back with a nod and suddenly she felt warmer, cozy and befriended. She received her wished for gift.

Monday Movie
One of the best Tom Cruise movies and Cuba Gooding Jr. is not bad either. So many memorable lines in this too, such as “help me help you”. A great cast in this movie.
