Subtraction

Funny how the time passes

You hardly notice it

Once you’ve let go of certain things

Life happens and the subtraction begins

Early on you are minus parents

Then children

Then husband

Then life as you knew it

How ever many years it takes

You accept and move on

Until you subtract yourself.

Never stay stationary but go out, be brave

Just start out, do your best

I promise it will go well

You need faith, with faith you can do all

Just dance, jump for joy, sometimes you will fall

Move into something new, reach for a star

Seduction

Rachel first spied him as a mirrored reflection in the ballroom. Jeffrey immediately recognized her enticing smile and crossed the room to join her. There was no imponderability in Jeffrey’s intent as he proceeded to rub up against Rachel, trying to scintillate her inner desires. In this age of openness, poise had taken a back seat, now a negligent twist in seduction. There was no longer a tangle between traces of lust disguised with a wink or seditious smile. The lack of dignity in Jeffrey’s constant search for a willing woman were outrightly displayed.

The bygone days of the supposedly unplanned rendezvous to catch a woman alone where everything seemed to surprise her as unwanted advances were now moot. Rachel openly invited Jeffrey with her body’s reaction to his closeness. The game was no longer hidden with shy glances, and the dance begun.

Am I the only one who can’t believe its the middle of the month already? I have birthdays, anniversaries coming up in February and March–I need to get crackin’!

The word publish is a frequent flyer here on the old WP. Mainly because of authors, wanna be authors and already published authors. I’m amazed at all of you!

And I want to thank ALL of the writers and readers here on WP who read and comment on my scribblings. I can imagine how busy you all are and I wish you all great success. It takes guts to put yourself out there in this critical world, more power to you. Thanks for being that person!đź‘Ť
