SoCS 9-12-20

Good day everyone! Sun is shining but I’m still chilly so coffee and blanket are my lazy day friends.

The idea of collar is interesting. If you don’t wear a collared shirt in some places you may be collared by authorities. Your only respite would be to ask a man with a clerical collar to aid you.

You would probably not be wearing a collared shirt to do a plumbing job requiring a collar joint but high waisted pants should be necessary.👨‍🔧

I hope you all have beautiful autumn weather this weekend.🍁

Schools

Betsy DeVos is a plague for public schools. As a Parent Teacher Association local and state president, I can tell you we have been fighting this funding of private schools for years. Instead of making public schools better, we have people like BD in charge–how this happened I haven’t a clue, but like so many other Trump appointees, she has no experience.

Money grabbing, does the Trump administration do anything but?😡

MLMM First Line Friday – 9-11-20

One by one the lights of the city block winked out, the dark coming ever closer. “The red coats are coming, the red coats are coming!”

“Jeez Harry, take a chill pill. Those guys came and went a million years ago.”

“No, man, it’s either them or aliens. Pretty soon there’ll be a white light and little green men coming out of a big egg! Ever been probed, Charlie?”

In Harry’s defense he had been using LSD on and off for decades. His mind wasn’t exactly kosher, if you know what I mean. He and I have lived on these streets for years and every time there’s a blackout, he panics. We usually have no problems on nights like this. Everyone fears the streets because there’s no street lights. But we who live here actually enjoy it. It’s a night of not being stared at, cajoled or kicked off a doorway. Gangs stay in their hideouts, and even the cops don’t come out!

“Charlie, I see them!”

“Who is it now, Harry?”

“White figures, coming toward us, can’t you see ’em?”

“It’s just your imagination, Harry. Crawl back under that blanket. It will be morning soon enough and we’ll have to move to the park.”

“Okay, Charlie, you know best. Ya think George’ll be up soon?”

“Sure. Go back to sleep.”

As the sun began to rise, Charlie and Harry shuffled to the back alley of the donut shop and waited for George to feed them.

Fandango’s Friday Flashback – 9-11-17

Daily Prompt: Sympathy

50 Word Thursday

Well, Harry, did I tell you or did I tell you? This old rig is worthless and now we’re stuck!

Yes you did, Henry, you always tell me. Let’s walk to the highway and hitch a ride. There’s plenty of truckers there.

Truckers? What did I tell you about truckers?

3TC 9-10-20 – Decisions, decisions

Belly, liquid, rumble

Waiting for the arrival

Of family tonight

I wish I’d satisfied my hunger

And taken an earlier bite

My belly says feed me, starts to grumble

I think I have some wine

In the fridge I’ll take a rumble

Yep, there it sits, red or white your preference

My stomach says it doesn’t make a difference.

So should I open it before everyone arrives

Drinking on an empty stomach surely isn’t wise.

And then there’s grandkids coming. . .😳😎☺️

Cyranny’s 1MinFiction – Life’s no Puzzle

As birthdays go this is no milestone

But many stones have turned

Since I found the blogging bug

Some new friends I have earned

Stop the puzzle, take a pen

And write your feelings down

Every blogger happy here

Will check in on what you’ve done.
