Lindor balls….oh yes!

I’m excited to go. Last time she went on vacation to the mountains I was small and I loved it. You stayed at the vet, remember?
Uh, no, she’s taking me this time, you are the one staying at the vet! She has a surprise for you, but don’t worry, you’ll feel much better soon. Heh heh.

Time was short and I didn’t want to be late. I gathered my book bag, my cell and my umbrella, just in case, because it was going to be a wonderfully long day with the club. It had been a while since we had gathered for an outing like this and I wanted to be prepared for anything.
Just thinking of visiting the original book store on Baker Street with the vellichor atmosphere surround, caused a smile on my face. The club had managed to secure a private session with the first owner’s grandson to give us a tour.
We were all looking forward to it except one odd member we knew would not attend. She preferred pristine hardback copies of our club choices, straight off the press and would repudiate any volumes in this store. Most of us bibliophiles loved the musty smells of leather bindings and parchment of ancient first editions, but never Michelle. She thought them laden with germs, however she did love to read and was welcomed in our club.

“Give me a home where the buffalo roam”. A wish in the minds of indigenous populations here in the United States before visitors from the East plundered the population of wildlife. This classic song perfectly paints the wide open sunny spaces of the West.

It was a casual atmosphere, just me and a bunch of girls from work enjoying the outdoor evening. Nothing spectacular in the surroundings, only a field surrounding a sport event.
It was then I spotted him, for the first time, and it was love at first sight–that inexplicable attraction no one can explain. It was not a candlelit room, across a dance floor with romantic music sweetening the mood.
It was not the childhood fantasy from well read books or black and white cinema. It was sunset, hot and muggy, and still. But then, my heart’s reaction wasn’t a fantasy, either, it was very real and lasted 47 years.

A sprightly trip to the mall
Saw a sale on a wardrobe for fall
Was too robust in my choice
Heard partner’s exalted voice
“My god, look at this invoice!”

I am borrowing this quote from Paul’s post: https://pvcann.com/2021/02/14/mystery-is-the-deepest-emotion-a-poem-by-paul-vincent-cannon/#like-14158
this morning because as usual, I am dazed and confused, and not alright, alright, alright. To my patriotic mind, I mistakenly thought truth would will out. Once again I was wrong and sorely disappointed. I’m sure you are weary of reading my political posts but I had to say one more time how disgusted I am with our convoluted justice.
Last night I was so angry I couldn’t sleep and my mind was full thinking of the Congress people who voted to acquit Trump, after all the evidence provided. What insidious weaklings we have representing us and the tenets our country was founded upon!
My now home state of Wyoming is among themπ which is not a surprise, but I didn’t give up hope until last night. My fear is that this sets a stage for Trump and his followers to continue their lawlessness.
