Respond to this Friday Faithfuls challenge by writing anything about longevity.
***
My family thinks I’m immortal so maybe I’m not concerned with longevity! I’ve had multiple health issues, died twice in a hospital (talk about poor healthcare😳😃) and came back. And no, saw no angels serenading me with harps, no white light to drift into, nothing. That is how my beliefs changed from childhood religious tenets to my conclusion that there is no actual heavenly destination, or even hell, but it’s how you make it, how you live your life right here on this planet every day.
Most of my family has lived into their nineties. I just turned 79. So onward and upward!👍🏻😉
It used to be the only time you would hear “eek” coming out of my mouth would be if I saw a spider or snake, or when we lived in Houston, roaches! I’m sure many Southern “livers” can relate. Now it’s a much stronger well used but hardly appropriate utterance which I’m also thinking which is familiar. Now it’s daily news instead of insects, but pondering that, it really does equate!
I hope you all have a fun weekend and think good thoughts, I’ll try.
For today’s Poetics, we will try to make this Tuesday a happy Tuesday. I am sharing titles of some books. You can incorporate one or as many as you like in your poem.
1.The pursuit of Happyness by Chris Gardener
2. Happy Accidents: A memoir by Jane Lynch
3. The ministry of utmost happiness by Arundhati Roy
4. Stumbling on happiness by Daniel Todd Gilbert
5. The Happy Prince by Oscar Wilde
6. The art of happiness by the Dalai Lama
7. More happy than not by Adam Silvera
8. Happiness is a choice by Neil Kaufman
If the above titles don’t inspire you, you can simply write us a happy poem. The idea is to smile as you write and put a smile on the face of the person reading your poem.
Beginning at ten, in the 80s, tried the saxophone which was bigger than himself, then a violin with instructions from a Denver Symphony Orchestra member, he finally decided on the guitar. It suited him as he loved rock music and thought Steve Vai was the best. He took a few lessons and practiced every day as soon as he got home from school. He and some friends started a band, of course. These are a few of his guitars, one being left out which was a bubblegum pink electric. Presently he is not playing and sold most of these displayed.
Joe let out a growl, knowing his wife wanted to join the polka contest. It was if he was allergic to the whole idea, breaking out in hives every year. June thought he should seal off his negative thoughts and enjoy the dancing. Thinking haphazard ideas, Joe faked a painful ankle injury.
