The phrase hooked me in this first song, his voice in the second, but my grandson saw him in concert, told me I’d like him, and he was right😀

Your poetic prompt for today (it doesn’t cost extra!) is as follows: write a poem (probably about guacamole, maybe?) using a mixture of at least four of the following key words: avocado, bunch, chop, cilantro, coriander, cumin, finely, fork, jalapeño, kosher, lime, mash, onion, pepper, raw, red, ripe, salt, seeds, serrano, shell, smoky, spice, squeeze, tomato, white, yellow. Everything else is up to you!
***
Keep the cumin coming
And sashay the cilantro
Don’t forget the jalapeño
To keep their tongues ahumming
Be liberal with the lime
It’s now taco time!
Squeeze the avocado
Let the creamy center flow
Finely chop the onion
For subtle flavor glow
Make sure the tomatoes
Are red and very ripe
You need their smooth calming
To offset all the spice.

Holy Guacamole!🥑

This week’s prompt is to write a “lento” on the topic of dreams.

Was it only a dream
Causing you so close
Glossing real to me it seemed
Pausing as a poem of love composed
—
Been to sleep once again
Ken your presence warm and clear
Then not possible to refrain
When only a dream brings you near.

W3 Prompt #81: Wea’ve Written Weekly
Didn’t know that I’d fall so hard
Then my feet left the ground
Gravity don’t make no sense when you’re around
I come up against myself when
Demons in my head get loud
I don’t know how you do it, but you turn them down
I slip and wonder who I’d be
If I never found you and you never found me
Well, I don’t wanna see
So won’t you give me tonight
And the rest of your life?
I wanna have it all with you
I wanna have it all with you
And when you open your eyes
I’ll be there by your side
I wanna have it all with you
I wanna have it all with you
‘Cause your love is biblical
Biblical, it’s biblical
If you evеr go to pieces
Fall between thе thunder clouds
I will put you back together, I won’t let you down
I slip and wonder what I’d do
If you never found me and I never found you
I don’t know what I’d do
So won’t you give me tonight
And the rest of your life?
I wanna have it all with you
I wanna have it all with you
And when you open your eyes
I’ll be there by your side
I wanna have it all with you
I wanna have it all with you
I wanna have it all
I wanna have it all
I wanna have it, I wanna have it all
‘Cause your love is biblical
It’s biblical, it’s biblical
So won’t you give me tonight
And the rest of your life?
I wanna have it all with you
I wanna have it all with you
So come on and give me tonight
And the rest of your life
I wanna have it all with you
I wanna have it all with you
And when you open your eyes
I’ll be there by your side
I wanna have it all with you
I wanna have it all with you
‘Cause your love is biblical
It’s biblical, it’s biblical

This week’s Story Starter teaser is:
The waitress walked over to my table, leaned over, and whispered in my ear, “If you want to stay alive, you need to leave immediately.”
“Isn’t it “come with me if you want to live?” Joe laughed at the waitress’s request. Thinking it all a joke, Joe stopped smiling when a burly man with a shotgun burst into the diner and yelled, “nobody move, this is a stickup!”
Joe couldn’t help himself and blurted out, “oh come on, that’s the oldest line in the book!” The rest of the diners looked at him, incredulous.
“Shut up, you moron,” yelled a punkish teen at the counter. The burly man let a few bullets fly into the air and even Joe cowed, and set his wallet and watch on the table.

Blanket by the fire has six syllables but thought it was meant to be five. Might be a Southern interpretation😀

Whatever phase you choose to write about her in, just make sure the literal word moon is somewhere in your 44-word poem.
***
The moon, it said, waxing poetic
Relying on it shows your aesthetic
Take your chance with nightly crescents
Luna might be effervescent
Sliver of silver serene
Reflecting glow, the ring’s sheen
Pose the question,‘tis tradition
A heavenly answer completes your mission.

The moon illuminates the woman entering the stone bridge, seeming to reflect upon her sadness. A roll of tears sweep down her cheek, visceral feelings obvious in the dimmed light. A few lotus blossoms grace the dark water and the woman thought it fitting as she would soon join them. A bicycle rider on his way home from work spies the woman, sensing her intent and began pressing his phone to call 911 and then flicked the small bell on his handlebars. He couldn’t reach her in time but hoped to cause a distraction till help arrived.
