Summer sun I miss your heat

Autumn sun has cooler heat

Flowers nodding in cold rain

Geese flying to a new reign

Crows alighting scarecrow forms

October ghosts return to their norms

Crops of pumpkins start to flourish

While tomatoes no longer nourished

Bright vivid blooms start fading

Greener grasses now degrading

As leaf showers fall into piles

Causing jumping children’s smiles

No longer swimming in a pool

Time to return to school

There’s a sadness in the air

When one season to new compared.

Love bloomed at the homecoming dance. The couple, Joe and Mary ended up in a parked car after the dance ended. It was very late. Joe’s dad came up to their car window and said, “Joe, it’s time to come home.” Joe left without argument, took Mary home. Mary’s mom fretting at home, yanked her daughter out of the car and took her inside.

Joe’s dad thought of his young life and acted accordingly. Mary’s mother did the same.

“I am haunted by how much our mothers do not know.” I think parents’ own experiences determine what they even want to know and visit them on their children.
