The Sunday Whirl

The school decided to have a seventies retro love in, celebrating freedoms of all kinds, some controversial in closed minds, but that was not deterring them. The principal’s role was to only bear witness and not get physically involved, staying off the streets and in the commons area. His wife was surprised the next morning to see newspaper images of an untidy man behind prison bars. Headlines reading: “Principal Jones Reveres Protesting Students. Jones let personal feelings from his college days get the better of him and was seen chaining himself to the bike racks along with his students.”

Steampunk Saturday Study?

What is it about the mysterious men—the ones that just sit there drawing you in? First of all they’re smoking so their breath‘s not great and it looks like he’s not showered or shaved on this date. I hate to admit it, but that’s part of his charm, and that may be how he disarms. I guess it’s the mystery, he’s just sitting where, a valise by his side and a weapon there.
A soldier of fortune that’s what he could be or an adventurer traveling the seas. It’s the steam punk era, so it could be the future where every human has metal sutures. I have to say this man stirs intrigue, but alas, I fear he’s out of my league!

I hope it’s okay I borrowed this image, Kevin.

“Hey Joe, see that speech bubble floating around you? You better start talking…”

“I can’t, I’m busy killing this ant hill that’s been biting my horses. I’ll give you ten bucks to grab it and use it yourself!”

Mike grabs the speech bubble, says a bunch of expletives into it and it blows up. “Taken care of, Joe! That sure was an easy ten bucks!”

Autumn Sonnet

I see the maple tree leaves turning red

Leafy veins appearing so white at first

The summery green story now been read

The cooler weather causes sugar thirst

Maple trees are not the only changing

Even wavering aspens turn golden

Mother Nature landscape rearranging

Those summer hues are turning, emboldened

Apple cider scents in the autumn air

Drifting along the bonfire sand beaches

Carved pumpkins sitting on the perron stairs

School has started with classes and teachers

Autumn delights even in the kitchen

Eat pumpkin or apple, just a smidgen.

NTT 2 – Surprise Party

Joe woke up and couldn’t get this image out of his head. That group of new guys from the office did seem a bit strange at first, but Joe was always friendly to new recruits. Joe accepted their offer of joining them for a surprise party for one of their sisters.
It was a surprise all right. Joe walked in the house beside the rest of the guys and there was a huge room with a door. The guys encouraged him to go through the door, and inside was another elaborate room with a huge bed in the middle. In the bed supposedly, was the sister. Joe started to back up and leave when he realized he was in a bad situation, but the drink he was given when he first entered, chugged because he was nervous, took effect. As the room started to swirl, Joe realize he had been drugged and when he woke up, he was in that bed, and it was empty except for him. Thank God he thought as he got up and left the room. The entire house was empty and Joe left and called a taxi to go home.
When Monday rolled around and Joe entered the office, the guys from the group just acted normally. Joe didn’t think he should bring up or ask what happened, in case he was at fault for something. When it came time, he went into the break room, and suddenly that vision, those horrible faces all appeared on the group of men standing around him. Joe was frightened, and tried to leave, but it was like he was glued to the floor. The group of men surrounded him, and that was the last Joe was ever seen.
So if a bunch of new people ask you to join them for a surprise party you might be the one surprised.

SoCS 9-14-24 Phone

Speaking of phones, I have a cell, most of the time I love it as well, as I love things like rhubarb pie, or having bacon to fry, or a good nights sleep and I have to keep it close by as a safety device, and most times that is nice.

I use it for notes, a timer and alarm, but there are times the phone loses its charm. I guess it’s not the phone’s fault if weirdos assault, or scammers find your number and call, and you try to block them all, most times that works and you’ve blocked those jerks.

Holidays are almost here and at this time of year, the scammers and phishers are out in force, for elders, robbing them—the worst offenders, old people looking for a friend, sadly fall for schemers and end, giving their retirement away, all for conversation on a lonely day. It’s a pet peeve as I’ve seen it occur, so take care of your elders, and be aware if you concur.

No Theme Thursday

Confused by AI?
Seems like a fast train running by
Can’t believe what’s seen by your eyes?
A mystery you can’t figure out
A jumble of images causing doubt
Internet schemes continue to sprout
Your mind constantly in a spin
You can’t figure if you’re out or you’re in
Where it ends or where it begins
So you turn it all off, just unplug
Blame it on an electric bug
If people ask you just shrug
“I’m done with AI!”
