It’s behind me, isn’t it
All said by the usual mismatched group of teenagers out on their own in a candlelit cabin in dark scary woods. Will they be lucky enough to have one complete brain between them and not venture out alone? Will there be one who thinks this venture was a bad idea?
Meanwhile, the ever present guy with some sort of bloody weapon is waiting. Or could it be the alien predator snake like with some expanding suction type mouth octopus armed creature we are so too familiar with?
Where’s the new idea, the new concept? Disappointed, again. Mr. King, you fail to impress since the clown in “IT”. Not the remake, not the movie, but the book. More is not always better.

The Haunted Wordsmith 5-11-19
A trip to the grocery store never sounded appealing to the young twins but finding two child sized shopping carts seemed to entertain them. Their busy mom being rather distracted, let the girls explore on their own. On this particular Saturday, pre-Easter Sunday, the grocery owner decided to add a small petting zoo in the produce section. There were baby animals there and once the girls found it, they were enthralled.
While no one was looking, the girls emptied two bins of baby ducks into their baskets and ran down the aisle to find their mother. The clerk in charge ran after them and finding them securely attached to their mom, explained to her, “you can’t do that in here.”

He never thought there’d be a trial
He thought if he just kept her in denial
But then she wouldn’t, so he used the vial
It wasn’t supposed to be homicidal
It was only to keep her quiet a while.

She vowed to tell the truth so vile
She no longer viewed him as her idol
Telling authorities was now vital
Never thinking of his reprisal
T’was her certain mistake, the final.

Bam! “That ought to scare him off, right Harry?”
“Wow, you are brave, whacking that stick on the branch! I wouldn’t dare get that near. I think it may it may be poisonous and I hate snakes anyway. Let’s go down the other way.”
“But Harry, this is the shortcut, and it’s hot. I’ll just crack it one more time and maybe it will crawl back up into the tree.”
“Or it will come down and eat us!” Both boys started giggling at the funny thought but also from a nervous excitement. Dare Jack hit the branch so close to the large snake or should they just go the long way around?
“Hisssssssss”, as the snake wound up and struck a threatening pose. The boys decided the long way around would be fine.

A reminder for the weekend coming after the work week strain, consider yourself lucky to have two days “off” and be kind to those who serve you at a grocery store counter, wait on you at a restaurant, make your special coffee just the way you like it, walk your dog, babysit your children or any other people who make the weekend brighter.
Guess what? The sun is shining and it’s supposed to be 55F today!🌞☀️🌤
