Joe rose from bed, yelled “what the hell?”
Did you put me under some spell?“
His clothes were missing
An asp was hissing
He was dead ‘fore he even fell.

Laughing Along With A Limerick

“Why are you a member of this staff? You don’t even like children!” The young teacher adjusted his stuff on his desk, ignoring the older instructor. “Well?”
With a stiff smile and a wave of his hand, the younger man sat down and started reading. Even though the older man was challenging him, possibly out of jealousy, sometimes no retort is a better choice.

Three Things Challenge #MM114

Waves
Don’t rest
Craving sand
Sands welcoming
Waves create sand art
With undulating dance
Music never required
While offering meditation
At same time providing energy
Waves don’t rest, craving sand, sands welcoming.

#TankaTuesday Poetry Challenge No. 20, Synesthesia, 7/8/25

Laying here on display
Suppose we made someone’s day
Fish deserve a time to play
Without being a fishing lure’s prey
Here we lie
With our dead eyes
When we decide to swim
It’s not just a whim
It’s for survival, food
You see the paradox
You encrued
Using us for your own
Meals you feast on to our bones.

Simply 6 Minutes – Welcome to the Challenge: 07/08/2025

“I Feel Good” used to be a song I could hear often and I offer the video below. These days, those three words hardly apply. How can they? Our country in the US is “being attacked from within” – Trump’s own words – who knew he meant himself when he became president? Take a moment of respite:
This Week’s Writer’s Workshop Prompts – July 10, 2025

A summer retreat and music show began. It was clearly a mistake for the older children to bring a large beach ball. Distracted by the ball as it started to curl towards a tree at the beginning of a large grove, small children, told to sit on a blanket, rose up to chase and play with it. For my side, it was a bad choice to bring the ball, causing the small ones to change from sitting on the side watching the show to running into the forest. Most parents realized the trouble and herded the little ones back to safety.

Kimo – 10, 7, 6.
What do you see #296- 7th July, 2025
I laughed when I saw this word because it was my go to “swear” word years ago. Of course it sounds like a bad word but it’s not.☺️. I had a close friend who was upset over something and she was frustrated, so asked me, “what’s that word you always use?” I said, “crud?” She said it loud.😀
