Wardrobe Malfunction

Her manner was very audacious

Her anatomy was so bodacious

Men by her were always loquacious

Speaking of her with such praises.

She danced very close to their faces

Her outfit had many loose laces

Some men attempted brief chases

But the bouncer was very sagacious.

Her singing was not what amazes

”Twas the costume that rendered the gazes

The bodice revealed many places

Where her body filled in the spaces.

This story is one of those cases

Where wardrobe malfunction’s the basis.

Fantastic Negrito(edited)

Fantastic Negrito is the stage name of Xavier Dphrepaulezz. You can see a video of his rise to success here:

 https://youtu.be/YbQvTL0Wb-g.

I’ve written before I am a music lover and watch the NPR Tiny Desk Concerts on YouTube. I discovered Xavier when he won the 2015 series. He writes and sings blues and soul. My favorite video to watch is labeled the Convenience Store Sessions. People shopping, and there he is, singing his heart out. And that’s why I’m writing about him. The words he uses are down to earth, what I classify as real people music. One of my favorite songs that speaks to me personally, is “Lost in a Crowd”, video below. If you’ve watched the television show “Hand of God”  Xavier is singing the theme song. He now has an album out named “Last Days of Oakland”. I had purchased tickets to see him in a club in Denver. It was the second time his tour took him near to me, and I was anxious to see him in person. Unfortunately I couldn’t go. Musicians who perform in such a heartfelt way should be seen in person. If you like blues performances, check out this:  (Rated R by some) My favorite lines”You travel, and you travel, trying to find it, I know that neither one of us, No, neither one of us can survive it, We travel, and we travel trying to find it, We’re just people, lonely people, you and I”.  The second song is another favorite, you may have to turn on the A/C!

Daily Prompt:  Faded

Her feelings for him will never be faded

Even though their love was jaded

She loves him still

It is her will

They met when she was in need

And fell without taking heed

Of consequences she soon learned

Love she was not able to earn.

Fate intervened like it always does

Threatening their idea of love.

They tried to ignore it, persevere

But fate won out causing fear

The future is still at bay

Maybe love will find a way.

Daily Prompt:  Culture

One side of my family got their start as Vikings. Maybe that’s why I feel adventurous, seek new possibilities. Maybe not physically, but mentally. I’m not afraid to take a chance, put myself out there, as you know if you have read my “stuff”. We also have violent ancestors such as infamous military leaders.

The other side that we know less about, started in Germany. My grandmother was descended from a Hessian soldier that came to fight for England in the Revolutionary War. His descendant fought in the Civil War and died in Andersonville prison after being shot and captured.

That might explain why I’m stubborn, determined, and hopeful. I believe all of these cultures have good traits. I hope I am an example of the best of those cultures.

I’ll be here if you need me

“I’ll be here if you need me”, she said. Crying, not wanting to leave, but maybe it’s for the best, for now, she thought. It’s such an ordinary thing to say, but her mind was clouded with the thought of them being alone, without each other.  “Have to think, only for now, because the alternative I can’t face”.  She hung up the phone, tried to stop crying. She knew this was coming, partly because of what happened. The truth she tried to push into the back of her mind since she first fell in love, came unwanted to the surface. She loves him still, even with it exposed again. She knew he was her soulmate, a term they used together; for even though apart, the undeniable connection was there. Short separations of contact wore on them both. They needed each other in all the definitions of the word. They still do, but there’s a shadow over them, the old black cloud, and it’s not leaving anytime soon. There’s work to be done, but she can’t help him with it. She can only hope with all of her being that he will succeed, and return to her.

Daily Prompt: Vigor

img_3349

Be the first one up, the sun is shining!

Out from under that pillow and stop reclining.

Don’t you dare choose

To put your hand on the snooze

The sky is blue, there is no shade

So get yourself up, there’s plans to be made.

A picnic, a ball game, or a walk by the river

Attack the day always,  attack it with vigor!

Share Your World Week 48

Share Your World, week 48

1. I definitely prefer food with nuts especially breads and salads. I just bought this today for a special treat:

2. If a movie were to be made of my life, probably a comedy. I try to see the humor in most things, not always a welcomed event. Sometimes you have no choice but to laugh.

3. The person who talks real sense to me is my oldest son. He’s like me in that he doesn’t “pull any punches”. I distinctly remember a few different occasions when his advice was very helpful.

4. It’s hard to choose a favorite board game because I love all types of games. My nephew visited us in CO and we introduced him to the game of Risk, which was popular at the time. My granddaughter bought the Game of Thrones version to play on Christmas.

5. I’m grateful for my oldest grandson’s visit from the firehouse to bring me a huge plate of Thanksgiving delights. He cooked dinner for the firefighters this year.

I’m looking forward to riding the bus tomorrow for a doctor’s appointment because of two bus passes given to me anonymously. No one will confess!

Monday Funny

A man walks out to the street and catches a taxi just going by. He gets into the taxi, and the cabbie says,“Perfect timing. You’re just like Frank.”

Passenger: “Who?”
Cabbie: “Frank Feldman….he’s a guy who did everything right all the time. Like my coming along when you needed a cab, things happened like that to Frank Feldman every single time.”

Passenger: “There are always a few clouds over everybody.”
Cabbie: “Not Frank Feldman. He was a terrific athlete. He could have won the Grand-Slam at tennis. He could golf with the pros. He sang like an opera baritone, and danced like a Broadway star. And you should have heard him play the piano! He was an amazing guy.”

Passenger: “Sounds like he was something really special.”
Cabbie: “There’s more. He had a memory like a computer. He remembered everybody’s birthday. He knew all about wine, which foods to order, and which fork to eat them with. And he could fix anything.  Not like me — I change a fuse, and the whole street blacks out.  But Frank Feldman, he could do everything right.”

Passenger: “Wow, some guy then.”
Cabbie: “He always knew the quickest way to go in traffic and avoid traffic jams. Not like me, I always seem to get stuck in them. But Frank, he never made a mistake, and he really knew how to treat a woman and make her feel good. He would never answer her back, even if she was in the wrong; and his clothing was always immaculate, shoes highly polished too. He was the perfect man! He never made a mistake. No one could ever measure up to Frank Feldman.”

Passenger: ” An amazing fellow. How did you meet him?”
Cabbie: “Well… I never actually met Frank. He died, and I married his wife.

A joke on myself!

Copy, paste, try the WP writing area, nope.  Easier to copy and paste from elsewhere.  Never put a title on till last.  Why can’t I copy and paste onto WP “add blog” area?  Otherwise anything resembling a poem,(and I use the term loosely) comes out double spaced, sprawled all over the page.  The joke’s on me.  No matter how many times I proofread, there’s always an error needing to be changed.  On the last Prompt, Liminal, I titled it  Minimal.  No one pointed this out to me.  People, I need things pointed out!  I usually do all the posting late at night.  Is that a good excuse?  Nope.  Laugh at will.

Daily Prompt:  Liminal

I have to admit my knowledge of liminal

Could not even be raised to minimal

I’m probably not the first one to say

The word above’s not the usual way

You like to spend your life on a day

In between or on the edge of a fray.

Decision making needs to come from the heart

Delaying, hesitation can become a sad part

Of life if you let it, so make up your mind

Step over the threshold, let yourself unwind

Seek adventure, be brave, don’t wait or be shy

The world wants to be seen, so give it a try!
