Organizing a party for the new candidate seemed a relatively easy task. Joan decided on the venue and made the park reservation. She chose the park’s location, thinking it wouldn’t cause any problems. This was only a small fund raiser for the county educational leader Joan was backing. The election of the education position was important to her and she was hoping the support would come at the party.

Everyone that joined in for the food and drink offered some help to support the new candidate and Joan was pleased with the participation of many concerned parents.

Everything was wrapping up when an unknown motorcyclist rode by and threw eggs at the group. At least it wasn’t harmful and Joan was unsure of what point the demonstration made. She was glad no one was harmed but realized she didn’t know enough about the candidate or the park’s neighborhood.

Can You Tell a Story in 41?

A balloon festival expecting fancy sights, was an enjoyable activity for grandchildren. The youngest seemed in a trance watching the show. Suddenly a monkey waved from a balloon’s basket. Reached for the camera in my satchel to capture the unusual surprise.

Unicorn Challenge

I was just walking down the road, an everyday jaunt with my dog, Curly. We had been on this road many times and today we’re seeing an unusual sign about a chicken? Curiosity chose our next stop to a farm we’ve passed every day. The Jones’ farm was a longtime staple in the community, so we knew them well. Walking closer to the building’s entry we were surprised to see another sign: “Free hens needed”.

Apparently one hen decided to organize the others and at night they all flew over their small enclosure to go where? No one knew until the hen’s loud voices were heard. Those squawks from a nearby grove woke the Jones and that’s when they discovered the missing chickens. Unfortunately for the hens, the escape was not well planned, and led them right into the small forest where a fox’s den was located.

All’s well that ends well does not apply…

The Writer’s Workshop

***

We all know who in the United States requires the most attention. He is constantly gandering, always on the lookout for a quick transaction, a big money deal, and whoever stands in his way gets ambushed, fired or even disappeared. Disappeared is a new daily word in our vocabulary, coming from disappear in the 15th century. Imagine you were in that time period when people disappeared often, for many reasons, not just political. This is the 21st century and it’s an everyday occurrence, which is shameful to say the least. Take action on your representatives, tell them to act! It should not take another 600 years for things to get right.

It was the stump I fell in love with at first, the vines second, and the stairs third. The double doors were also interesting, but my eyes could not part from the wood stump. I looked down at it closely, which wasn’t easy because the stump was quite large but I wanted to try to count the rings to see its age. It was impossible since mushroom looking growths covered the edges. This building wouldn’t be my first office, but I needed a new location and all it took for a decision to buy was this odd shaped wood greeting.

Who wouldn’t like a Bit -O-Honey when starved for affection, any concoction that Razzles your tongue Good & Plenty would be my choice. Those Big Hunk hugs that last all day, Twix morning light and the Milky Way? Forget their Snickers and Chuckles, let them all muse, the Sweetarts and Whoppers are words they can use. It might be a Starburst Red Hots you feel, but Oh Henry, you did make me reel! Lifesavers may be needed then, a Kit Kat from the lifeguard, Henry gave me a ten! Dots of smiles as Three Musketeers quiet the crowd as they sneer, “You were faking, not drowning at all”, but that tells me they don’t know Henry at all.
