I am a widow since 2013 and live by myself in a small apartment. I use a wheelchair to get around, but I wouldn't consider myself disabled. I'm 11 years away from having bladder cancer resulting in a urostomy and I'm doing well. This cancer was a result of having radiation in 1995 because of uterine cancer. So have faith in yourself, a cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence. My first try at blogging was an attempt to help other people with my condition. I am a mother of three married children, and a grandmother to eight gorgeous kids, featuring them often here, and a great grandmother to two as of today, 6/7/25! I enjoy exploring my feelings and like to try the challenges. I like humor, music, movies, games, and some sports. I absolutely appreciate your reading and commenting on my blog. Vermont Autumn
The season is autumn where every flower’s leaf eventually falls to the earth, providing sustenance in wait for spring. This is the second time of year when the breeze is filled with scents to envelop your being, turn your mind to childhood days when a crisp apple was ready to pick and munch. The air is full of the orchard fruit, cider, and promise. The first of the year’s scents come in spring when the smell of maple from sugaring bins boils into syrup.

3TC – Information Age(ing)
“You always let your emotions get the better of you”. If I had a nickel for every time I heard that—wait, you better make that a dollar…you know, inflation?
If I’m feeling sorrow or anger, you’re going to know it. My feelings go straight to my face and even if they don’t, they’ll be coming out of my mouth.
The only thing sad about it is some of my curiosity’s waning. I always thought curiosity was a good thing. You can learn a lot if you’re curious. But now all you have to do is open your phone, turn on your TV, or open your computer and you are completely inundated. And not in a good way.
Spam and junk emails, texts, advertisements and horrible political ads invade us every minute of the day. And no one seems to know how to get rid of it or stop it.
So I think I’ll keep my curiosity because I like to learn “stuff”. I like to read about “stuff”. I like to research “stuff” and if you’re not curious, you don’t do that. You take all of that crap that they’re putting out as facts, which it is not.

You’re home alone but you hear footsteps in your house, what do you do? This actually happened to me at my other apartment building. A young man came into my apartment, all dark and started talking to his (friend) saying man, you’ve really changed things in here, etc and then suddenly realized he was in the wrong apartment. I was not scared and he was so embarrassed that he left quickly apologizing. I had stayed in my bedroom and laughed when he left. I had the maintenance men check my lock the next morning.
GRATITUDE SECTION: I am grateful for my health, cooler weather—I love cuddling up in clothing—and always my family. My middle son is 53 today, living in France and I miss him so much. He was always so fun to be around, started working at 15 and steady on till three years ago when he and his wife wanted to get off the treadmill and be farmers in France. I’m very proud of them❤️

Looking for a steam punk costume which they don’t rent here or one in a costume shop which again, they don’t have here, we are actively looking to zhuzh up something we already own. Since this is the fourth activity in October that needs some zhuzching, we are getting desperate😂. So far we’ve seen examples like these:

Six Sentence Story – Maturing
“Going to the club?” Joe asked Mike on their way out of the office.
“Uh, not tonight, probably not ever again.”
Joe stopped and looked at him, “why not, did something happen?”
“Yeah, well no, well, you know what Joe, they’re just not my kind of people anymore”, as he stood by his opened car door.
Joe motioned for Mike to join him and they bypassed the club and went to a coffee shop to talk.
