I am a widow since 2013 and live by myself in a small apartment. I use a wheelchair to get around, but I wouldn't consider myself disabled. I'm 11 years away from having bladder cancer resulting in a urostomy and I'm doing well. This cancer was a result of having radiation in 1995 because of uterine cancer. So have faith in yourself, a cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence. My first try at blogging was an attempt to help other people with my condition. I am a mother of three married children, and a grandmother to eight gorgeous kids, featuring them often here, and a great grandmother to two as of today, 6/7/25! I enjoy exploring my feelings and like to try the challenges. I like humor, music, movies, games, and some sports. I absolutely appreciate your reading and commenting on my blog. I am happy to read all of your blogs and learn more about you. Please comment however you like, ask whatever, and I'll answer honestly. Thanks for reading! Cheryl

Monday Peeve

I’m not in the mood to care that it’s not still Monday- I’ll warn you right now. Here’s the problem: I was charged $7 (tip) by Walmart twice for two different small items delivered into my post office box. I tried a chat person on their site, no help.

Another day I tried a different chat and was promised a refund of the $14 and that happened. Then I received an email with a $10 “coupon” code for a next order, for my trouble—good until April.

I have not been able to use the code because there is no place to put it when you check out. I tried it in actual store pharmacy and they said it has no bar code, just letters, which is true. I even showed them the email, but because of no barcode, couldn’t use it.

I’ve been stewing over this and tonight decided to try it again. Not working—so I called the store, talked to six different people, ending in a barely understandable conversation with a nice young woman and I told her twice I could barely understand her and please slow down. Didn’t happen. Her “solution” was to use the code on my next order and I asked where do I put the code? That’s why I’m calling because there is no place! She just repeated same stuff and after twenty minutes of being on hold and finding no solution, I just said, you know what? Forget it! Keep your ten dollars. It’s not worth the aggravation! I hung up.

The opposite comes when desiring to do the same preservation attending a still pond whose quiet atmosphere is disturbed by the strike of a rainstorm.

Ten years I’ve mourned you and now, maybe it needs to change? I will try to keep a promise made to only think of the fun times and the laughs we had as young lovers. Listening to albums on a small record player in a room with no furniture, we happily stretched out on the wood floor and let the music overtake us. Good times. Remembering when you carried me over your shoulder walking up an outside flight of stairs and then turning and bonking my head on the door jamb.
