I am a widow since 2013 and live by myself in a small apartment. I use a wheelchair to get around, but I wouldn't consider myself disabled. I'm 11 years away from having bladder cancer resulting in a urostomy and I'm doing well. This cancer was a result of having radiation in 1995 because of uterine cancer. So have faith in yourself, a cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence. My first try at blogging was an attempt to help other people with my condition. I am a mother of three married children, and a grandmother to eight gorgeous kids, featuring them often here, and a great grandmother to two as of today, 6/7/25! I enjoy exploring my feelings and like to try the challenges. I like humor, music, movies, games, and some sports. I absolutely appreciate your reading and commenting on my blog. I am happy to read all of your blogs and learn more about you. Please comment however you like, ask whatever, and I'll answer honestly. Thanks for reading! Cheryl
The Sunday Whirl
“We can’t trace her, the call went down with the cell tower.” Debris ripped around him, surging with the near hurricane strength wind. A rescue in the woods was getting more difficult as darkness loomed. He passed the information on to the others via his headset. They left the trail and walked closer to the river. The dark rolls caused by the flooding now made it harder to see if anyone was in the swells. Suddenly a bright yellow rain jacket was spotted passing and they threw a rope out to it. The woman in the coat was clinging to her dog and trying to keep them both from drowning. He tied a rope around his own waist and entered the water, grabbed the yellow coat. The woman and her dog and rescuer were safe.

SoCS 9-2-23
You know the time when your favorite candle just is too low in the jar to light? Mine is sun-washed citrus by bath and body and it’s nowhere in the website🤯. Now I have to choose a new scent and finding one that’s not too strong is difficult.
And since this is SoCS I’ll add another hard thing to find and I love to chew is dried apricots! I like the California orangey flat tart ones, NOT the puffed up Mediterranean sweet soft ones. I used to buy them weekly at King Soopers but now they don’t have them either.
So how’s your day going? Mine is great since I just found out my granddaughter and husband are coming over to give me instructions on two plants I bought. She’s a plant guru and I have a black thumb😂.

Thursday Peeve 😡
Many new people including a manager moved into my complex. Apparently they have no problem risking fines as they blatantly break rules and offend other dwellers. I am one of those dwellers and disappointed to see that these people who have animals and their own patio areas and yard space decide to stroll in the front of the complex where my patio is located. The small bushes that were planted two years ago have since disappeared and why? Because these rude people just let their dogs poop and pee on my area because they don’t want to mess up their own areas or are too lazy to use the area specifically for that purpose. I am so tired of seeing this and my daughter wonders why I don’t like sitting on my patio. Sitting out there is not a deterrent either🤯. One woman that I confronted a year ago said yes, I get in trouble when I do that…she still does it…🤷♀️I just threw up my hands🙄.
