Can You Tell A Story In…

***
I came upon a mysterious sight
A child sitting in the light
The sun was readable-bright
He seemed to revel in the write
Many years have passed since then
The year? I don’t remember when
The child grown, innocence flown
A teacher now, skills are honed
Remembers how in sun’s light
Reading was such a delight
His classes now held outside
Experiencing new just feels right
Proudly offers fresh insight
Teaching under readable-bright.

Get to know kennings

It’s Jack-o’-lanterns…
Perched on porches
Staring from steps
Grinning from garages
Sinister on swings
Frightening on fences
Leering from lawns
Creeping from clematis
Jeering from jasmine
Eerie from evergreens
Harrowing from hydrangeas

Reena’s Xploration Challenge #352

Did you learn anything?🧐🙄

This Week’s Writer’s Workshop Prompts – October 15, 2024

I like getting up to sunshine, but as I age, any sleep I can get is appreciated.
When I was a child I saw the movie “Fall of the House of Usher” and it still gives me the creeps these days!
Any candy is fun and I wonder how much of it is stored for the next year. Tons of packaging with Halloween motif but it’s still the regular candy. And Christmas decorations are already up. Forget about Thanksgiving turkey shaped candy… ever wonder what happens to all oft this stuff?😳

Get to Know You #39

I think Cole Porter wrote it best:

Writing Prompts
This week’s Story Starter teaser is:
They’d only been apart for a week and Cliff already had a new woman hanging off his arm. Julie shrugged. She hoped the new woman would realize sooner than she did that he was a misogynistic bore.
