Kevin’s Magenta

He barreled through

His strength replete

The enemy bested

He made their defeat.

Soldiers, knights of the realm

Victory found in their helm

The righteous guardians won

Peace will show in morning sun.

Victorious he set another goal

Determined then to return whole

Hiding wounds secreted in his soul

Where battle fatigue took its toll

Always fighting, engaging that role.

Now he wants a peaceful time

Resting his armor by his side

After combat, war and strife

Time to start another life.

MLMM Wordle – Wife’s Plea

***

“Don’t shut me out! Now it seems every day of our relationship as a couple, you try to push me away. You must think I’m not worthy of compassion, but I care for you deeply. How can we get back to where we first fell in love? What is one solitary thing I can do to make you less angry all the time? When we started out, our future together seemed bright, a copy of our parents’ lives, but now you seem unsettled. I fear you might take wing and leave me. What can I do?

2. Did you date your brother’s/sister’s friends? No, they were much older.

3. Did your mother ever wear high heels? Sure.

4. Can you remember the washing powder your mother used for the laundry? No. I remember lye soap.

No bindings
No heavy blankets
My consciousness
In endless windings
Eyes drooping under pressure
No dream state or comforting prayer
Drapes closed, even darkness
These thoughts cannot harness
I only want to sleep
Sadness wants into creep
I need a change
Bring the light
