I am a widow since 2013 and live by myself in a small apartment. I use a wheelchair to get around, but I wouldn't consider myself disabled. I'm 11 years away from having bladder cancer resulting in a urostomy and I'm doing well. This cancer was a result of having radiation in 1995 because of uterine cancer. So have faith in yourself, a cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence. My first try at blogging was an attempt to help other people with my condition. I am a mother of three married children, and a grandmother to eight gorgeous kids, featuring them often here, and a great grandmother to two as of today, 6/7/25! I enjoy exploring my feelings and like to try the challenges. I like humor, music, movies, games, and some sports. I absolutely appreciate your reading and commenting on my blog. NTT 3 – Future Vision

It finally happened
He realized his dreams were real
His mind was full of images
He could not reveal
The visitors explained this was just for him
Any disclosure and the outcome would be grim.
Finally tried to clear his head
Explaining what he saw
The doctors listened carefully
Then asked him to draw.
The pencil started shaking
He asked for colors more
Furiously the pens were moving
Papers falling on the floor
After he was done and the doctors shown
It was decided, the patient’s mind was blown
Now he’s medicated, sitting all alone
But images were the truth as he was shown.

Gray, cold, discarded
Melancholy as I see it
Remembering it vibrant
Fields full of golden waving wheat
House standing strong, upright
Freshly painted
Green grass mowed
Bushes and trees trimmed
Now sad gray clouds cover all
Atmosphere under sky—cold
Memories muted
Home abandoned
No one passes and stops to envision
What it was years ago
When this building was full of
Happy family excitement.

My favorite at the moment😉

It’s been a stressful week. This weekend I plan on making tomato sauce for pizza crusts and spaghetti, etc. Also they delivered two green cabbages instead of one so I’ll be making two batches of coleslaw from a new recipe. No mayo and tart:


I used 1/4 cup of olive oil to 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar, 1 T of yellow mustard, 1 t of sugar and then celery seed, salt and pepper. The amount of cabbage was almost a whole one sliced. I like tart and it’s easy to adjust to your own taste.

I used green cabbage, carrots, t of grated sweet onion because that’s what I had on hand. I think adding peppers would be great.

Look what we’ve become…

This article from NPR is a sad note in this United States of America. Even writing United seems a false statement. And in my opinion, this turn of events started when Trump became president and even writing that seems an incredible fact. His continued denial of losing the election and stirring up hateful people, some ignorant who just follow the loudest person, the so-called Christians, and the evil element we all know that are thinking it’s time to come out from under their rocks because one of the highest officials in our land says it’s okay to act out their hate. Of course I personally think he’s lost it, and I think one reason is he is taken aback by Kamala. He’s always chosen women for their beauty, not their strength or intelligence. Furthermore, he constantly threatens and is trying to incite the same violence he encouraged, set the stage for and condoned on January 6.

“The FBI has issued a warning to state and local officials that extremists with election grievances could turn violent in the weeks to come. People in the swing state of Georgia are on edge. The FBI bulletin emphasizes that concerns such as alleged election fraud and anger toward perceived political opponents could trigger the most likely threats of extremist violence. Polling places and campaign events may be potential targets.”

Harry was pissed! All this time he thought Amy loved him for his strength, his mystery, and probably his long black hair. Okay, it was starting to get gray streaks, but he was over three hundred years old! This night as every third Saturday night, he changed and she just stared at him, hands on hips. “What? Harry asked. Is something wrong?”

“Wrong? Wrong? Harry, you look horrible! What happened to that beautiful black fur you always sprout on these nights?”

Harry went to the mirror and freaked out. His whole body was looking like he put his claw in a light socket! He charged out of the house looking for prey. Any warm blooded creature would do…hey, it’s a deer! Wolf hunger satisfied. The next day he would visit the pack and ask for advice.
