Joe thought it might be folly, and the profit would be nil, but the money rolled in. Then he saw an evil stream of casualties start to drop. The people who this new leader and his building business harmed who it was supposed to help. They woke up cold and rent increases made them hungry. It finally dawned on Joe that he was complicit in this phase of the business and now there would be a reckoning. It was an illegal endeavor where the residents suffered.
