I started to slip off the edge as I reached down to find a rope to hang onto. The raft was wet and too slippery. The guide, supposedly an experienced rafter, was panicking as my husband had fallen out and was floating fast right in a piling path. My children were told to huddle in the center of the raft where my heavy bodied neighbor sat. I was then bounced off and into the water, fast paced rapids pushed me into a rock on the side of the river and cracked my glasses. They probably saved me from a concussion. A raft customer on the shore jumped in to pull my husband to safety. That was enough experience in that river. Make sure to check your rafter/guide knows what he’s doing!
eek! wouldn’t go on a raft! too nervous!
