I agree with Kim–Scrooge before the spirits’ visit, but the orange one even more now.

This could be Scrooge before he encountered the Christmas ghosts, Cheryl – and it fits perfectly the orange one, especially those caustic remarks ‘buried under inadequacy’. I agree with Shaun about the harsh brevity.
