The Chinese history of dragons starts in 3000 BCD and looks very different from European dragons. It breathes breath, not fire. First of this legend is Yan Emperor (炎帝 Yándì), a legendary Chinese leader from pre-dynastic times, who was born of an encounter with a powerful dragon. Later, he partnered with Emperor Huang Di and together they conquered their enemies, unified China and, according to myth, pioneered Chinese civilization. The dragon is significant and often in parades. The belief is dragons bring prosperity, bountiful harvests and good health.

Cheryl, Chinese dragons are one of my favorite mythological creatures. I’m glad you chose to write about them in their influence and reverence. Good choice of images also.
