As the auctioneer’s gavel came down, all eyes turned to her. It was only natural and not meant as a condemnation…well all except the irate woman in the front row. That woman was the mother of the deceased and quite upset with her daughter-in-law who chose to sell every single piece of her husband’s belongings. There was no consultation with her, the mother-in-law scorned. By my estimation, well deserved!

That is such a hard thing when someone passes. I was lucky in the sense that my husband didn’t have his parents anymore and his siblings didn’t want anything from him. Today is actually 7 years since his passing.

I don’t blame the mother for being pissed.
