Family members sacrificed and will be remembered not just on this day. I think it is sad and important to have this day because especially now, when our president is full of egregious remarks, and threats to our military.

I think, as you put it, that ‘sacrificed’ is a far better word than ‘fallen’, which makes it all sound like some kind of horrific accident. We all need not only to shed a tear, but to accept some responsibility. Nobody ‘fell’ – they were pushed.
