I can crochet, but only simple chain stitch and ‘shells’. I made blankets in the winter when we were in the cottage and each square took me two hours. I made three, one with 96 squares, one with 110 squares, and another with 130 squares. My neighbour suggested I made it a ‘cottage industry’ until I told her how long it took and at £5 an hour, I couldn’t see anyone paying over £1000 for a blanket!
