Veteran’s Day

I use this Colorado photo for both Veteran’s and Memorial Day. The graves surrounding my granddaughter are family members who served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam era. My husband’s five uncles all served at the same time. My veteran family members are in New England sites. Whether serving now or in the past, we all have a deep appreciation and respect for military service people.

  3. I am going to have to disagree with you here, buddy. These celebrations perpetuate the myth that violence can be justified. I have a deep respect for those who went to war honestly believing that they were defending the common good (my father was a highly decorated WWII bomber pilot) but more respect for those that refused on conscientious grounds only to be branded as cowards. To me they will always be the real heroes.
