Young brother and sister hated school
father, king of the castle raised no fools.
He wanted to shine a light on learning to read and his lazy children were in dire need
of instruction and a jolt of reality
instead of constantly playing in the nearby sea.
He printed a schedule on a teacher’s arm
while the man took the pledge to “cause no harm—
but teach the children” and he warned them too:
everyone follows their father’s rule.
