Always a handy guy to have around, James, the valet. His duties were written in a contract by the head of the household, Miss Scarlet Jones. Miss Jones was a stickler for neatness and decorum, at least in public. She rang the bell that was heard in the lower part of the house, for the servants. He entered the room with a soft knock, “yes, Miss Jones?”

“The usual, James, and when we’re done, don’t forget to press my dress…again.”
