Peder Severin Krøyer, Summer Evening at Skagen. The Artist’s Wife and Dog by the Shore

She walks silently in contemplation.
While the family pet is an excuse for solitude, she ponders what might have been—
Was it the summer heat, the heavy scent of magnolias in the garden—the furtive touch, the deep kiss that told of imperative need or simply a single moment of passion—
She walks on, a smile begins and her pace enlightened.

I love the imagined story… if you are interested you can search for her real story… her name was Marie Kroyer and she was the wife of the painter… and an artist herself.
