Leering at the two trash talking braggarts’ fist bump, Marie was determined this would be the last time she would endure their jokes. It was time to face the ugly truth and get tough!
Marie was finally learning she had to galvanize her emotions and disregard the unwarranted opinion of others. She was a bit outre, realized she could never fit into the “normal” social groups, but needed some place to feel accepted.
A murky choice to appeal to the other so-named weirdos–they also might choose to ridicule her. There was no real comparison to her in the grid of high school cliques. She decided the best way to find out was to repair to the science lab and present a staunch presence. Fist bumping bullies be damned!
