Carrot Ranch Flash Fiction – Revenge

Even the bright white moon could not dispel the ominous vision of the empty rowboat. All would be revealed in the light of dawn, but for now, he looked upon the vessel as a final ending.

No more would she mockingly betray him. No more would she laugh and flirt, shamefully cavorting with all the handsome young men. No more would he cry himself to sleep in silence waiting for her to return.

He turned and walked back to their isolated cabin. The planned vacation was a success in some ways. His world would now be free of her.
