No soirée, no birthday gathering for my granddaughter turning twenty-two today. No homemade cake at my house as usual. No hot cheesy pizza to share among the twelve of us that live close to each other. She graduates from college this year and how disappointing to work hard with studies and jobs for four years and no ceremonial reward. Plans for further college education next fall also up in the air. A trying time for her, but nothing new or unusual for people all over the world today.
There will be cake, music and games at her home with live-in family and younger siblings. So maybe not a soirée but a celebration of sorts. Happy birthday Saeda!
