The tree rarely spoke to humans, usually just animals heard his words. Today he watched the old man for a while. Struggling to walk his dog that foggy morning, the tree felt his pain with empathy.
“Do not worry, old one. I too have that pain of years. I too have been neglected, but here I still stand, shading you in summer, and a place to lean upon and rest in the cold. In autumn I will be a place to sit and revel in colors of my leaves, and in spring I will bring you the newfound joy and promise of bright new buds. Take your time old one, and reap the changes of life.”

A very nice take on the photo. If only trees could really talk, what takes they could tell.
