Best bib and tucker was his look

He’d read all the fashion books

Trying to make the best impression

Even went to a charm school session

Joe was enamored well

Saw a girl, it was an instant spell

When he saw her his heart swelled

A beauty, and her name was Belle.

Belle was from a societal peak

Where Joe’s position was rather bleak

Skipping over his low agnation

Wanted to act above his station

No one but Joe thought this was needed

Even Belle, if she had been heeded

Joe approached coiffed with cravat on chest

And hoping that Belle would be impressed.
