FFF Challenge 8

A momentous occasion, looked forward to by all. It was to be the “announcement of the century”. At least that’s what the posters proclaimed.

Unfortunately no one showed up. Everyone had given up, there could be no good news to be found on this earth. Everyone stayed home in their own tiny worlds of fear and disappointment.

Years, centuries of promises from campaigns of politicians, religious zealots, even well meaning humanitarians, all had just given up. The poor, the homeless, the sick, needy, the faithful, the agnostics, all tired.

Slowly disappearing green, piles of unrecycled waste, over hunted, over fished, polluted in every way possible, planet earth was dying.
