MLMM Wordle #123

There was always pressure in Mr. Petersen’s classroom. He put the assignments on the chalkboard, and then promptly sat down and observed. What transpired after that was up to the student. Sometimes it was only a sentence, sometimes a lugubrious story suggestion, or quote. Mr. Petersen’s English class was for the more talented creative writing students. His teaching methods were considered beyond reproach by the administration, but caused harsh criticism by the parents.

Students who excelled in English were not fond of Mr. Petersen. He allowed no disruptions and after writing his words on the board, sat at his desk, leaning over the top of his writing kit. Anyone asking a question would receive a silent sneer. If a parent asked to withdraw their child from the class, the student would receive an immediate failing grade for that day. Angry parents soon learned to let their child suffer the rest of the semester.

What Mr. Peterson decided after years of teaching, was that expecting creative minds to work required strict discipline. His methods were simple and demanded imaginations to expand.
