Stirring, stirring

This god awful brew

The cauldron old

The recipe new

Since I made the commitment

It’ll have to do

Witches are busy this time of year

So I said I’d be happy to cook it right here

That was a mistake as I can see now

Even the cats are starting to yowl

The mixture’s too thick, getting hard to stir

I should have used hogs’ breath instead of myrrh

Finally, its now a feast for the eyes

“Green and perfect”, my curdling cries

The witch coven will think I’m neat.

As I serve them this Halloween treat.
