The Fortune Teller

“Come in, my dear. Oh, he’s perfectly harmless, besides he’s old, no longer has teeth. I have collected many items over the years, from clients without money.” The young woman hestitated before sitting at the table, which held a crystal ball, candles, and a dark starry shawl covering.

“What may I help you with, child?” The saddened girl spoke her dilemma, recently been diagnosed with a serious illness, wanting to know how long she would live. “What gift did you bring”, as she took the girl’s palm.

The young woman could offer no compensation. “Well, then, my dear, not long”.
