Every day Marie never wanted to contribute something less than average to her editor. She never expected jubilation upon his reading, but even a swift scan of her work producing a smile made her feel good.
Marie was often asked to ferret out controversial subject matter, but she was always careful not to diminish the characters in the story, just state the facts. In doing so she was not afraid anyone would retaliate with a wrongful suit against the newspaper.
