A middle aged man always had a good job. After college, he worked hard, moved whenever he was asked, built up a business from scratch. He married, had a family and it seemed everything was rosy. The younger man was taken advantage of, and now he is struggling to maintain a morsel of the life he once had.
Always faithful spiritually, a caring husband, a perfect example of fatherhood, he always and still does his best.
Life is hard, and doing your best through adversity takes great strength of character. This ability is instilled by parents who set the example.
