Word Prompt: Rock Chips

Growing up on two hundred acres of farm land in NE, the fences were made mostly of stones. It was a great place to explore and find specimens of different types of rocks. One of my favorites was chipping off pieces of mica. I recently found out mica is used in making isinglass. I fell in love with that word, so expect a story using it in the future.

The word mica is derived from the Latin word mica, meaning a crumb, and probably influenced by micare, to glitter.[5]

    1. Me too. It is thin sheets made from mica derivatives sometimes used for see through panels on stoves. That’s just one use. My brother in law told me about it, but the word is fascinating.
