Putting My Feet in the Dirt 29

She was shy, but passionate. It was evident when she first met him. She had been watching him from across the room, sneaking glances when she thought he didn’t notice.

She turned her attention back to the dull conversation with the older generation when she heard a stranger’s voice behind her.

Turning, she saw him, close, almost touching her, and she felt her cheeks warming, tinged with scarlet dust.

He smiled openly at her blush, because he had noticed her interest from a distance. Introducing himself with his hand grasping hers, the warmness continued into the rest of her being. He must have realized the impact his touch had, and held her hand a bit longer than usual. She was comfortable with both actions and returned the smile.

Love at first sight was just the beginning.
