Here he comes, right on time, carrying another bouquet of daisies. Why mom lets him visit her, I’ll never know. Every third day he comes. My mom gets up early, dresses and puts on makeup, fixes her hair up in a curly bun, and waits.
Marion knows that precisely four o’clock, Mr. Tannebaum will come for tea. She always prepares the tea carefully, making sure his cream and sugar cubes are available. She also disposes of the three day old flowers he brought before.
“Good day, Mr. Tannebaum” says Marion’s son and leaves for the library. Marion, on the divan, fluffs the pillow next to her. The courtship continues.
